I'm just testing my new digital camera Sony DSC-S40... I wanted something almost as fast as my Canon 300D but would be as small and portable as my Pentax 33WR. I'm quite happy with it. Shutter response time is incredibly fast for a compact digital. And the colours are quite bright and Sony as you see. The lens is f2.8. Wider angle and collects more light than the Pentax. So my non flash images come brighter with less noise and handshake blur. The only dissappointing point with it was that (I was already lucky to learn this before my purchase) this camera was supposed to have a manual mode with shutter speed up to 30 sec as in Sony's ads and press-releases. But that is not the truth. There is no manual mode and the max shutter time is 2 seconds in Twilight mode, fixed at ISO 80.
